The Ministry of Public Security has launched criminal proceedings against 17 individuals for the illegal provision and use of computer network and telecommunications information. The investigation centers on the production and distribution of violent short films on YouTube and Facebook to drive engagement and profit.

Phạm Tiến Mạnh, known as ‘Thật Mạnh’, and Nguyễn Ngọc Túy are identified as the ringleaders of the YouTube channel ‘Đời TV’. The channel, which has over 1.2 million subscribers, produced drama-style content depicting gangster lifestyles, including the use of weapons, drugs, and organized crime activities to resolve conflicts. Other key figures prosecuted include Nguyễn Văn Dũng, known as ‘Dũng trọc Hà Đông’, and several members of the production crew and acting ensemble.

In a related crackdown, authorities in Hải Phòng have also processed a group led by Phạm Huy Tuyền. This group was found to have produced nearly 800 videos promoting illegal gambling and selling fraudulent gambling equipment through social media platforms. Law enforcement officials emphasized that these activities negatively impact social order and security, particularly among younger audiences.
