Quang Tri police recover 5 billion VND after mistaken bank transfer

On 6 August, a Hanoi resident, Tran Minh Quân, accidentally transferred 5 billion VND to an account belonging to Hoàng Quốc Cường in Quảng Trị due to a name similarity. The recipient reported the unexpected funds to the local police. Quảng Trị police coordinated with the sender, verified the transactions and arranged for the full amount to be returned at the police station, avoiding a bank visit. The incident was resolved within two days, and authorities advised the public to double‑check recipient details before confirming transfers.

Police emphasized that anyone who discovers a mistaken transfer should promptly contact their bank and the nearest police unit for assistance.
