Vietnam police urge public after online sales scam and bank transfer error

Police in Hung Yen province are investigating an online sales fraud in which the suspect, Triệu Văn Nam, promoted "Muoi Hong" plants via livestreams, collected deposits through VietinBank accounts, and then either failed to deliver or sent wrong items. Victims are urged to report to the nearest police station by 1 August 2026.

In a separate incident in Hanoi's Suối Hai commune, a man discovered 40 million VND unexpectedly credited to his Vietcombank account. He reported the mistake, and police identified the sender, N.T. L, who retrieved the funds at the police station. Authorities advise checking recipient details carefully to avoid such errors.
