Vietnam police warn citizens against land‑record scams on Zalo and Facebook

Police in several Vietnamese localities, including Hà Tây commune in Hải Phòng and Đak Pơ commune in Gia Lai, have warned that scammers are impersonating land‑office officials through Zalo, Facebook, SMS and other messaging apps to collect personal data.

The fraudsters ask victims to send photos of identity cards, land‑use certificates, bank cards, OTP codes and other sensitive documents, and to click on fake links that mimic government portals or banking applications. Authorities stress that no government agency will request such information via personal messages, and they urge citizens to avoid sharing any personal images or data, not to follow unknown links, and to verify any land‑registration procedures directly with local officials. Suspected attempts should be reported to the police or commune leaders immediately.
