Vietnam pork prices hit nearly one-year low
Pork prices in Vietnam have reached their lowest levels in nearly a year, driven by slow consumption and market fluctuations. As of mid-August 2026, prices across various regions have seen significant declines.
In Northern Vietnam, prices have stabilized around 56,000 to 57,000 VND/kg. Central Vietnam has seen prices drop to a low of 55,000 VND/kg in provinces such as Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai. In the South, prices in Dong Nai, Can Tho, Dong Thap, and An Giang have also hit the 55,000 VND/kg mark.
While there have been slight signs of price recovery in some southern provinces like Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, the overall trend remains under downward pressure. Compared to August 2025, current prices are significantly lower, with some southern regions seeing a decrease of 5,000 to 6,000 VND/kg compared to the same period last year. Farmers face a difficult period as they monitor supply, consumption, and disease trends to determine if prices will recover in the coming weeks.
