Vietnam pork prices keep dropping across regions

On 31 May and 1 June 2026, pork (heo hơi) prices fell in almost every region of Vietnam. In the north, type‑1 pork dropped to 70,000 VND per kilogram (down 1,000 VND) and type‑2 hovered at 67,000 VND/kg. Central and southern markets saw similar reductions of 1,000‑2,000 VND/kg, with current averages ranging from 66,000 to 68,000 VND/kg and a nationwide mean of about 67,000 VND/kg.

Even with the decline, pork remains priced higher than chicken, eggs and other meats. Traders kept prices for cuts such as ribs, tenderloin and other pork products stable. Analysts expect further softening as school canteens close for summer holidays and both domestic production and imports increase, while poultry and egg prices are at seasonal lows.
