Vietnam postpones Khánh Hòa supermodel contest as Asian Dance Sport Championship opens in Ho Chi Minh City
On 9 July, the Khánh Hòa provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that the “Supermodel and Male King Vietnam 2026” contest, scheduled for 18 July, would be postponed because the number and quality of applicants fell short of expectations and sponsorship funds were limited. The broader Khánh Hòa Sea Festival will still take place from 17‑19 July in Nha Trang, with organizers expecting 600,000‑800,000 attendees.
Later on 9 July, the Asian Dance Sport Championship 2026 was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City. The event attracted thousands of athletes from 32 countries and territories. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoàng Đạo Cương said the championship marks a milestone for Vietnam’s professionalisation of dancesport, promotes cultural exchange, and offers participants the chance to earn international ranking points.
