Vietnam PM Le Minh Hung urges human‑centred cybersecurity at national Cybersecurity Day

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung addressed Vietnam Cybersecurity Day on 6 August 2026, stressing that cybersecurity must protect people as well as information systems. He called for a "humane cyberspace for everyone" and outlined five priorities, including tighter legal frameworks, removing regulatory bottlenecks, strengthening coordination by the National Steering Committee for Cybersecurity, and boosting public awareness and digital‑safety skills.

Hung highlighted recent progress such as improved data‑protection laws, enhanced defence of critical information systems, and expanded international cooperation. He warned that cybercrime, online fraud and personal‑data breaches are becoming more sophisticated and that current safeguards lag behind the rapid pace of Vietnam’s digital transformation under Politburo Resolution No. 57‑NQ/TW. The Prime Minister urged ministries, businesses and citizens to work together to build a safe, trustworthy and humane cyberspace that supports national sovereignty and economic growth.
