Vietnam Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng meets Russian President Vladimir Putin
Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng visited Russia for the 35th‑anniversary ASEAN‑Russia summit in Kazan, where he held a bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Both leaders reaffirmed the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, pledging to deepen cooperation across political, economic, defence, security and cyber domains and to maintain regular high‑level dialogue.
Putin emphasized Russia’s strong and stable ties with ASEAN, noting that Vietnam is among Russia’s most important partners in the region and a key bridge to Southeast Asian nations. The discussion covered implementation of existing agreements, new joint projects and support for each other’s international positions. The meeting underscores Moscow’s effort to expand influence in Southeast Asia amid broader geopolitical shifts.
