Vietnam promotes coastal tourism in Thanh Hóa and Nghệ An
Vietnam is spotlighting its central coastal regions as tourism destinations. In Thanh Hóa, historic sites such as the UNESCO‑listed Thành Nhà Hồ and Lam Kinh are being promoted alongside eco‑tourism initiatives, with local villages offering cultural experiences and the province receiving three nominations at the 2026 VITA Awards for favorite village, beach and green accommodation. A new film project about the Lam Sơn uprising is also slated for the Lam Kinh heritage site.
Further north, Nghệ An’s Quỳnh coastal stretch—spanning seven linked beaches over 20 km, including Quỳnh Lập, Quỳnh Phương and Quỳnh Nghĩa—is being marketed for its pristine sand, clear water, karst cliffs, caves and community‑based services. The area aims to attract families, eco‑travelers and cultural tourists, highlighting local seafood, temples and the region’s natural scenery as part of Vietnam’s broader push for sustainable coastal tourism.
