Vietnam promotes green economy and SME financial transparency
Various workshops and training programs in Vietnam are addressing the transition toward a green and circular economy, alongside improving financial access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
In Thanh Hoa, the Department of Industry and Trade and Rạng Đông Bulb and Glass organized a seminar focused on energy-saving solutions and green transformation. Experts from the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) discussed green building criteria, rooftop solar power, and smart lighting technologies to reduce operational costs and promote sustainable production.
In Hanoi, the Asia Foundation collaborated with local organizations to launch a training program aimed at helping SMEs and household businesses improve their financial documentation. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between businesses and credit sources by emphasizing data standardization, improved governance, and transparent financial reporting to facilitate easier loan approvals.
Additionally, experts and scientists have convened to discuss the institutional frameworks necessary to support green and circular economic models. Discussions highlighted the need for a unified legal framework and synchronized policies to overcome current gaps in implementation, ensuring that resource efficiency and emission reductions drive long-term national competitiveness.
