Vietnam promotes lifelong learning and digital mastery
Vietnam is observing Lifelong Learning Week from October 1 to 7, 2026, under the theme “Real learning, real practice, mastering digital technology and artificial intelligence to build a learning society, promoting lifelong learning.” The initiative spans various regions and age groups, emphasizing the integration of digital tools into daily education.
In Phu Tho, the Learning Encouragement Association is driving social development through a network of over 1.21 million members. Meanwhile, in Quang Ninh and Hanoi, educational institutions are focusing on practical application and digital literacy. In Ho Chi Minh City, discussions regarding “happy schools” have emerged, with students advocating for modern school regulations that respect personal expression and provide digital access like Wi-Fi.
The movement also highlights the importance of learning across all ages. For example, 90-year-old Professor Pham Huy Dung continues to conduct research using AI, while other seniors are participating in digital transformation classes to master new technologies and assist their communities.
