Vietnam promotes lifelong learning to drive national development

Vietnam is advancing its policy to build a learning society, a strategic initiative aimed at ensuring equitable access to education and fostering lifelong learning. This policy is designed to enhance human resource quality and support sustainable development amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution and rapid digital transformation.

Since the launch of the “Building a learning society” project in 2005, the nation has seen significant progress in public education and skill acquisition. As part of the 2021–2030 project period, recent data indicates that over 261,300 individuals have participated in literacy programs. Additionally, more than 40.6 million working-age citizens have acquired information literacy skills, representing approximately 50.76% of that demographic.

Further achievements include nearly 40 million working-age individuals receiving life-skills training and over 37.8 million people aged 15 and older completing technical or specialized training. The initiative also emphasizes digital transformation, with most universities integrating information technology into their management and teaching processes to create a digital learning environment.
