Vietnam National Assembly approves major infrastructure and development programs

The National Assembly of Vietnam has approved several major investment and development resolutions. A key decision involves the construction of Ring Road 5 in the Hanoi Capital Region, a project spanning approximately 349km across seven provinces with a preliminary investment of 288,268 billion VND. The project aims to enhance regional connectivity and reduce traffic congestion, with full completion targeted before 2035.

In Da Nang, two major infrastructure projects worth over 4,293 billion VND have commenced to improve transportation networks and climate change resilience. Additionally, the National Assembly approved the relocation of the Dong Co and Tam Son communal houses in Bac Ninh to facilitate the Gia Binh International Airport connection road project, emphasizing the need to preserve historical and cultural values.

Furthermore, the Assembly approved a national target program for socio-cultural, rural, ethnic, and mountainous development for the 2026-2035 period. This program, which consolidates four previous initiatives, has a total resource allocation of 808,558 billion VND for the 2026-2030 phase. Objectives include increasing rural incomes by 2.5 to 3 times compared to 2020 levels by 2030 and promoting cultural industry contributions to 7% of GDP.
