Vietnam provinces announce 2026-2027 school year schedules

Ten provinces and cities in Vietnam have officially announced their back-to-school schedules for the 2026-2027 academic year. While specific dates vary by locality, all schools must adhere to the general timeline framework established by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Ho Chi Minh City has the earliest schedule, with first, ninth, and twelfth graders returning on August 17, while other grades return on August 24. In Bac Ninh, first, ninth, and twelfth graders start on August 21, with remaining grades on August 27. Hung Yen and Son La provinces have scheduled first, ninth, and twelfth graders to return on August 22, followed by other grades on August 29.

Other provinces, including Ca Mau, Gia Lai, Ha Tinh, Lao Cai, Quang Ngai, and Vinh Long, have set August 24 as the return date for first, ninth, and twelfth graders. For these regions, other grade levels will return between August 27 and August 31.
