Vietnam provinces announce regional modernization and biotechnology plans

Regional authorities in Vietnam have announced new development plans focused on modernization and biotechnology. In Hung Yen Province, the People's Committee approved a general planning task for Tien Tien Commune through 2050. Covering over 2,500 hectares, the plan aims for the commune to meet modern new rural criteria by 2030 and transition toward urban standards by 2035, with the goal of becoming a ward by 2050. The strategy involves shifting from pure agriculture to a diversified economy including industry, logistics, and services, while using advanced science to support high-tech agriculture.

Simultaneously, Ninh Binh Province has issued a plan to expand the application of biotechnology. By 2030, the province aims to replicate 30 to 40 biotechnology application models and master 15 to 20 new technologies. The long-term goal is to establish Ninh Binh as a regional hub for biotechnology research and innovation in the Southern Red River Delta by 2045. Key initiatives include supporting local enterprises, developing climate-resilient crop and livestock varieties, and using biotechnology to enhance the value and preservation of local specialty products.
