Vietnam regional modernization and biotechnology planning

Overview

Regional authorities in Vietnam have initiated various development strategies focused on modernization, biotechnology, and economic restructuring. In Hung Yen Province, long-term planning for Tien Tien Commune aims to transition the area from agriculture to a diversified economy involving industry, logistics, and services, with the goal of achieving urban status by 2050.

Furthering these economic objectives, Hung Yen has introduced a socio-economic spatial planning framework designed to achieve double-digit growth and reach the status of a centrally administered city by 2030. This framework organizes the province into three economic zones: a northern high-tech industrial and logistics hub, a central administrative and service zone, and an eastern/southeastern coastal zone focused on free trade, port development, and green energy.

In Ninh Binh Province, development efforts are centered on biotechnology. The province aims to replicate numerous biotechnology application models and master new technologies by 2030, with the long-term objective of becoming a regional hub for biotechnology research and innovation in the Southern Red River Delta by 2045.
