Vietnam provinces prepare for ‘Cung Viet Nam tien buoc’ walking program
Provinces in Vietnam are preparing for the ‘Cung Viet Nam tien buoc’ (Walking with Vietnam) program scheduled for 2026. This nationwide event is designed to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day on September 2, and other significant national milestones.
In Quang Tri Province, officials expect approximately 3,500 participants to gather at Bao Ninh Beach Square in Dong Hoi. The program includes a simultaneous flag-raising ceremony across 78 communes and wards at 6:00 AM on August 30, coinciding with the ceremony at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi. The event aims to promote a green lifestyle, encourage walking habits, and reduce carbon emissions.
In Thanh Hoa Province, organizers aim to mobilize between 3,000 and 6,000 participants at Lam Son Square in Hac Thanh. The initiative seeks to foster patriotism, national solidarity, and community health through the ‘All people exercise following the great example of Uncle Ho’ movement. Local authorities are coordinating logistics, including security, transportation, and social resource mobilization, to ensure the event's success.
