Vietnam pushes agro‑forestry‑fishery exports toward $74 billion target by 2026

Vietnam is aiming to lift its agro‑forestry‑fishery exports to $74 billion by 2026. Industry associations say the sector has already reached about $42.6 billion, a 7 % year‑on‑year increase that accounts for roughly 57.6 % of the goal.

The groups urged authorities to remove bottlenecks such as high logistics costs, trade barriers and stringent quality and traceability requirements. They highlighted the impact of global uncertainties, volatile energy prices and the European Union’s Deforestation Regulation. A national traceability system launched on July 1 is expected to improve product transparency and competitiveness.

Associations also called for stronger dialogue with the Philippines – Vietnam’s largest rice market – and for expanding export markets in Africa and other emerging regions to reduce reliance on traditional destinations.
