Vietnam ramps up infrastructure projects in Chu Lai, Vinh Long, Lam Dong
The Chu Lai Economic Zone in Da Nang set a goal of attracting about US$5 billion in investment between 2026 and 2030, including US$800 million of new capital in 2026, and plans to start construction of the Cửa Lò canal worth roughly VND 7,000 trillion. The project is expected to generate about 10,000 jobs and contribute roughly 25 % of the city’s annual budget.
Vĩnh Long province is accelerating a waterway and logistics corridor project valued at VND 3,900 trillion. The scheme aims to upgrade east‑west and north‑south transport routes, reduce congestion and transport costs, support poverty‑reduction and national defence, and authorities are fast‑tracking land‑acquisition, compensation and resettlement processes.
Lâm Đồng province is proactively securing construction material supplies for major transport works, including the Tân Phú‑Bảo Lộc and Bảo Lộc‑Liên Khương expressways, which together will need over 11.6 million m³ of earth, sand and rock. The province has earmarked 18 mining sites, with eight approved, to meet an anticipated demand of more than 50 million m³ of material from 2026 to 2030.
