Vietnam ramps up metro tech transfer and digital asset tokenization

Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City metro authority signed a memorandum with Global Telecom (GTEL) to acquire core metro system technology, part of a broader effort to modernise urban transport. The same week the country hosted an International Summit on Real‑World Asset Tokenization, promoting a regulated market for tokenised assets and seeking foreign investment.

The government also issued new directives to accelerate digital transformation, AI research, semiconductor production and green manufacturing. Policies aim to place Vietnam among ASEAN’s leaders in foreign‑invested business by 2030 and to have foreign investment contribute 30 % of GDP by 2045. South Korean firms will join VIS 2026 to deepen supply‑chain cooperation, while trade talks with Laos target a $10 billion bilateral exchange. These moves underscore a coordinated push to embed advanced technology across infrastructure, finance and industry.
