Vietnam ranks in top 8 at International Olympiad in Informatics 2026
The Vietnam national team achieved a 100% success rate at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2026, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The team secured four awards: one gold medal, two silver medals, and one commendation.
Nguyen Huu Tuan, a 12th-grade student from the High School for Gifted Students at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, won the gold medal. This achievement follows his recent gold medal at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence 2026. Other award winners include silver medalists Dang Huy Hau and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, and commendation recipient Nguyen Khanh Phuc.
With these results, Vietnam ranked among the top eight countries and territories in the medal standings, following China, South Korea, the United States, Malaysia, Japan, Poland, and Turkey. The competition featured 375 participants from 92 countries and territories.
