Vietnam retail sector seeks to boost tourism revenue via easier payments
Experts at a recent workshop in Vietnam highlighted that convenient payment methods are becoming a critical component of the tourist experience. Facilitating seamless transactions, such as cross-border QR code payments, can help small businesses and local retailers capture more revenue from international visitors.
Phạm Văn Thủy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, noted that modern travelers evaluate destinations based on the convenience of their entire journey, including payment ease. He emphasized that tourists require methods that are fast, familiar, transparent, and secure. Failure to provide these options may lead travelers to reduce spending or seek alternative shopping locations.
