Vietnam reviews signaling systems on North-South Expressway for safety enforcement
The Road Management Area II has completed a review of road signaling systems across a 353.8km stretch of the North-South Expressway (CT.01) between Nghe An and Quang Tri provinces. This inspection follows directives from the Vietnam Road Administration and the Traffic Police Department to facilitate the enforcement of penalties for failing to maintain safe following distances.
Four specific locations have been identified for potential administrative sanctions regarding safe distance violations: Km421+300 (Nghi Son-Dien Chau), Km436+200 (Dien Chau-Bai Vot), Km597+100 (Vung Ang-Bung), and Km646+600 (Bung-Cam Lo).
Technical inspections confirmed that the signaling infrastructure at these sites, including type 7.8 road markings and sets of five distance signs (0m, 50m, 100m, 150m, and 200m), are clear, undamaged, and compliant with national technical standards. Authorities will proceed with enforcement once all technical procedures are finalized.
