Vietnam schools commence 2026-2027 academic year

Schools across Vietnam have commenced the 2026-2027 academic year. In Hà Tĩnh province, over 390,000 teachers and students across 235 schools participated in opening ceremonies. Local leaders, including Provincial Party Secretary Nguyễn Duy Lâm and Deputy Permanent Secretary Nguyễn Hồng Lĩnh, attended various events, including the inauguration of a boarding school in a border region, urging schools to innovate management and teaching methods to improve educational quality.

In Hanoi, Bùi Quốc Khái Primary School held a special cultural program during its first week of school. The event featured an exchange with artist Văn Thao, the son of the late composer and national anthem author Văn Cao. Văn Thao shared personal stories regarding his father’s life and career, providing students with historical context regarding Vietnamese musical and cultural heritage.
