Vietnam targets economic growth through industrial integration and credit expansion
Vietnam is implementing strategic measures to strengthen its economy through improved credit access, industrial integration, and technological cooperation. To support a projected annual growth rate of over 10% between 2026 and 2030, the banking system is exploring risk-sharing tools like Risk Sharing Limits (RSF) and Partial Credit Guarantees (PCG) to expand credit to strategic sectors such as infrastructure, digital transformation, and green energy.
Efforts are also underway to deepen the integration of domestic companies into global supply chains. While foreign direct investment (FDI) remains strong—reaching $50.36 billion in registered capital as of September 30—the localization rate for foreign-invested enterprises remains between 20% and 25%. To address this, the government is considering revisions to the Law on Investment to provide incentives for technology transfer and the development of local suppliers. Major corporations like Samsung are also expanding support for local manufacturers in key industrial hubs.
Additionally, Vietnam is enhancing international technological partnerships, such as the recent Vietnam-Australia forum focused on AI, semiconductors, and digital innovation, to boost national competitiveness and workforce quality.
