Bệnh viện K76A search mobilizes Ho Chi Minh City to locate war heroes
The Ho Chi Minh City Command has launched a 500‑day campaign to locate and identify the remains of fallen soldiers associated with the former K76A Hospital in the Hòa Hiệp area. The hospital, established in 1965 under Division 84, treated troops from numerous units, including Division 5, Division 9 and the Đoàn 10 – Rừng Sác. Survey teams are canvassing the former site, reviewing historic maps, diaries, letters and photographs, and interviewing veterans, former medical staff and local residents.
The effort follows earlier discoveries, such as two sets of remains found in 1996, but the expanded search has yet to locate additional remains due to changed terrain and the passage of time. Authorities are urging civilians, former combatants, and relatives of the missing to submit any information—maps, personal recollections, or other documents—to Lieutenant Colonel Tô Văn Khuê at 0332‑339‑332 or via email (khuehang0707@gmail.com). The initiative aims to bring home the war dead after nearly six decades, honoring the principle of “Uống nước nhớ nguồn, Đền ơn đáp nghĩa.”
