Vietnam Sets 2030 Targets for Clean Environment and Cultural Industry Growth

The Communist Party of Vietnam’s 14th Central Committee approved a comprehensive plan to improve environmental quality and combat climate change. The resolution calls for tighter control of major polluters, a minimum allocation of 2 % of the state budget to environmental protection, and a vision of a clean, nature‑friendly living environment by 2045, with net‑zero emissions aimed for 2050. It also sets 2030 goals for better air quality in major cities, restoration of heavily polluted industrial zones, and stronger disaster‑risk management.

In parallel, the Party’s Resolution 80‑NQ/TW on cultural development outlines a strategy to turn culture into a pillar of national growth. The plan identifies gaps in digital heritage, intellectual‑property protection, and creative capacity, and targets a contribution of 7 % of GDP from the cultural industry by 2030. Measures include digitising heritage assets, building a national cultural data system, and fostering cooperation between culture, technology, and business sectors.
