Vietnam sets 2026 university entrance score floors for over 200 colleges

More than 200 Vietnamese universities have published their 2026 minimum admission scores (điểm sàn), ranging from 15 to 25 points. The highest floor of 25 points is set by the University of Natural Sciences (Hanoi) for several talent programmes, while most institutions keep the threshold between 15 and 20 points. The Ministry of Education and Training reports that about 800,000 candidates have submitted over 6.3 million programme preferences, with the online registration closing on 14 July.

Specific programmes have additional requirements: law programmes nationwide require a minimum of 20 points, and the new semiconductor micro‑chip track demands a math score of at least 7.5 and an overall score of 22.75 points. Universities such as the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and the University of Technology Ho Chi Minh City, which are using combined admission methods for the first time, forecast a top cutoff of 25 points for certain majors.

At the Tuyên Quang specialized high school, over 80 % of students achieved 24 points or higher, giving them strong chances of admission to top‑ranked universities. The published thresholds guide candidates in adjusting their preferences before the final selection round in August.
