Vietnam sets new policies to spur two‑digit growth and tighten economic violation handling
Public Security Minister General Lương Tam Quang presented a draft mechanism to apply special procedures for violations involving the state and private sectors, aiming to resolve overlapping regulations in investment, state assets, procurement and digital transformation. The proposal seeks to reduce legal obstacles that hinder rapid, flexible economic development and to protect innovative enterprises.
The Party’s Resolution 57, adopted by the Central Committee, designates science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as the core drivers for achieving a two‑digit GDP growth target of 11.7% by 2026. Officials including Minister of Science and Technology Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng and Statistics Chief Nguyễn Thị Hương highlighted the role of AI, big data, cloud computing and IoT in boosting productivity and reducing costs. The resolution sets ambitious quarterly growth milestones for the latter half of 2026 and calls for coordinated investment in high‑tech sectors to replace traditional growth drivers.
