Vietnam Education Ministry sets 2026 university admission minimum scores

The Ministry of Education and Training (Bộ GD&ĐT) has issued the minimum score thresholds (điểm sàn) for university admissions in 2026. For teacher‑training programmes the floor is set at 20 points, for health‑related majors the highest thresholds are 22 points for medicine and dentistry, with other health fields at 20–18 points. The law sector receives its first nationwide floor of 20 points, matching the standards applied to teacher and health programmes.

Several universities have published their own admission tables based on the new rules. Hanoi National University released a conversion table linking the HSA assessment to the 30‑point THPT scale for A00, B00, C00 and D01 combinations. Da Lát University listed a 21‑point floor for its education programmes, while the University of Economics – Law (Ho Chi Minh City) set a 60‑point floor on a 100‑point scale for total academic scores.

Separately, the Ministry ordered an urgent audit of the 2026 high‑school graduation exam after unusually high mathematics scores were reported at Tuyên Quang Specialized High School. Provincial education departments have been instructed to verify any irregularities and submit reports by 10 July. The investigation involves the Ministry, the Public Security Ministry and local officials, with the goal of ensuring the integrity of the nationwide exam.
