Vietnam Social Insurance Authority Launches New Customer Support System and Warns of Fraud Scams
The Vietnam Social Insurance (BHXH) agency has introduced a new, multi‑channel process to assist citizens and businesses in accessing social insurance, health insurance and unemployment benefits. Users can now request support via a dedicated phone line (1900‑9068), the national e‑government portal, official agency websites, verified social‑media accounts, email, postal services, local hotlines and in‑person visits. The agency emphasises transparent handling, timely responses and strict data‑privacy safeguards.
In parallel, BHXH issued a fraud warning after a family reported being targeted by scammers pretending to be BHXH staff. The impostors used phone calls, the Zalo app and a fake website (baohiemxahoivn.com) to coax victims into sharing personal and banking details, scanning QR codes and even performing facial‑recognition verification to transfer money. They threatened to affect the victims' insurance benefits if they did not comply. BHXH reiterated that it never asks for passwords, OTPs, bank account information or payment to process claims and urged the public to use only official channels and report suspicious contacts.
