Vietnam social media figures face legal action for criminal activities

Several prominent Vietnamese social media figures, often referred to as “internet gangsters,” have faced legal consequences for various criminal activities. These individuals frequently cultivated online personas characterized by wealth, luxury, and moralizing lectures or charitable acts to gain influence.

Notable figures include Khá Bảnh (Ngô Bá Khá), who was sentenced to over 10 years in prison for gambling and organizing gambling activities. Dương Minh Tuyền, known for livestreaming abusive content, received a 32-month sentence for disturbing public order and property damage. Other individuals recently apprehended include Huấn Hoa Hồng, Vua Quạt, Khánh Sky, and Hồ Văn Khoa.
