Vietnam spice exports see growth in pepper and cinnamon
Vietnam's spice exports, specifically pepper and cinnamon, showed significant activity in July 2026. According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), pepper exports for the month reached 22,743 tons, valued at 147.3 million USD. While July saw a slight monthly decline, the first seven months of 2026 recorded a total of 168,429 tons exported, worth 1.087 billion USD, representing a 10.1% increase in value compared to the previous year.
The United States remains the top individual market for pepper, followed by China, which saw a 55.8% increase in imports from Vietnam. The 2026 pepper harvest is expected to be approximately 170,000 tons, a 12.8% decrease from last year, which may support high prices due to limited supply.
Cinnamon exports also performed strongly. In July 2026, Vietnam exported 11,788 tons of cinnamon, earning 30.3 million USD. Although this was a slight decrease from the previous month, the volume increased by 13.6% compared to the same period in 2025. India continues to be the largest single market for Vietnamese cinnamon, accounting for 40.4% of total exports.
