Vietnam airfares surge ahead of National Day holiday
Airfares on several key domestic routes in Vietnam are surging due to rising travel demand ahead of the National Day holiday on September 2.
On the major route connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, ticket prices for travel around August 28 have nearly doubled compared to prices seen a week earlier. For instance, the lowest fare for a one-way flight on August 21 was approximately 1.12 million VND, but by August 28, it jumped to roughly 2.12 million VND. Surveys of airline distribution systems, including Vietjet, show a steep increase in costs as the holiday approaches, placing significant financial pressure on passengers traveling during this peak period.
