Vietnam Stock Market Mixed: DST Shares Surge, VN-Index Falls

Sao Thăng Long Investment Joint Stock Company (DST) saw its HNX‑listed shares climb to a limit‑up price of VND 9,000, marking an eighth consecutive session of maximum gains. The surge lifted the company’s market capitalisation to about VND 290 billion despite the firm reporting virtually no revenue from its core textbook business. Profit was driven by financial income, including interest and dividends, with net profit of VND 2.2 billion in 2025 and VND 66 million in Q1 2026. On 1 June 2026 the board removed Deputy General Director Hà Quang Hưng from his post.

At the same time, the VN‑Index extended its decline to a seventh straight session, closing down 0.41% at 1,819.01 points. Liquidity on the HoSE rose above VND 20,300 billion. Although the index fell, market breadth was positive: 168 stocks rose versus 130 that fell. Banks such as ACB (+3.6%), OCB (+3.5%) and MBB (+2.2%) performed well, while sectors like technology (FPT +2.3%) and steel (HPG +1.9%) provided support. Foreign investors continued net selling, totaling about VND 607 billion, with ACB being the most sold‑out stock.
