Le Minh Hung conducts official visits to Laos and Cambodia

Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung is conducting an official visit to Laos and Cambodia from October 8 to 10, 2026. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties, promote trade, investment, and regional stability.

In Laos, the Prime Minister met with high-level leaders, including President Thongloun Sisoulith and Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith. The two nations signed 11 cooperation documents and discussed infrastructure connectivity, such as the Hanoi-Vientiane expressway and the Vientiane-Vung Ang railway. Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Laos reached approximately US$3 billion in 2025, and both sides aim for US$10 billion by 2030. Additionally, T&T Group is investing US$768 million in the Savan 2 wind power project in Laos.

In Cambodia, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung held talks with Prime Minister Hun Manet and met with Senate President Hun Sen. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism. Vietnam and Cambodia have set a target to increase bilateral trade turnover to US$20 billion. The visit underscores the priority placed on maintaining good neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation with both neighboring countries.
