Vietnam strengthens health insurance oversight and sets 2026 social insurance goals
The Government of Vietnam issued Decision No. 599 authorising a three‑year inspection (2023‑2025) of the Ministry of Health and related agencies on the management of drugs, medical devices and health‑insurance funds. The audit aims to curb abuse and protect the health‑insurance pool.
In parallel, the Ministry of Health announced that the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine will be added to the compulsory vaccination programme from 1 July 2026, expanding the national immunisation schedule.
Provincial authorities in Ca Mau have formed a steering committee, led by Deputy Chairman Nguyễn Minh Luân, to achieve the 2026 targets for social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance. The committee will coordinate policy‑making, raise public awareness, tighten cost controls for medical services and enforce compliance with insurance regulations.
