Vietnam strengthens regional security and diplomatic ties

Vietnam is actively expanding its diplomatic and security ties through various international engagements. President To Lam met with Senator Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez of Mexico's Labor Party in Hanoi to discuss bilateral relations.

In a significant move toward regional security, Vietnam and the Philippines are deepening their Enhanced Strategic Partnership. Discussions between Vietnamese officials and Philippine National Security Council advisor Eduardo S. L. Oban Jr. focused on maritime defense, regional peace under UNCLOS 1982, and intensifying cooperation against transnational crime. Both nations are considering the establishment of an annual high-level security dialogue.

Domestically, President To Lam has called for the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to undergo comprehensive reforms to become a model of academic integrity and Party building. Additionally, the Vietnamese Parliament is debating amendments to the Housing Law, with a specific focus on increasing the development of affordable rental housing.
