Vietnam tax authorities launch data cleaning and standardization campaigns

Tax authorities in Vietnam are conducting campaigns to clean and standardize tax data to resolve business bottlenecks. In Phu Tho Province, the Tax Office of Base 9 has been implementing a campaign to review and reclassify tax identification numbers. This includes addressing taxpayers who have ceased operations without completing termination procedures and those not operating at their registered addresses.

As of August 18, 2026, the Phu Tho office has successfully updated the status of numerous taxpayers, moving them from inactive or incomplete statuses to active or officially terminated states. Officials emphasize the need for cooperation from taxpayers to ensure information accuracy.

Simultaneously, tax agencies are working to standardize non-agricultural land use tax data. In Khanh Hoa Province, authorities are focusing on updating and verifying information regarding taxpayers, land plots, addresses, and tax obligations. Taxpayers are encouraged to proactively check their identification details, land plot information, and current administrative addresses to ensure their records match reality, especially following changes in land ownership or administrative boundaries.
