Vietnam tax authority bans travel for 12 legal representatives over unpaid taxes

Tax offices in five provinces of Khanh Hoa announced on 12 June that 12 legal representatives have been placed under a travel‑ban because they have not fulfilled their tax obligations. The notice, posted on the Lao Cao provincial tax portal, states that the measure will be applied if the taxpayers do not settle their debts within 30 days.

The bans follow Government Decree 49/2025, which authorises travel suspension for individuals or organisations owing at least VND 50 million (individuals) or VND 500 million (legal representatives) and overdue for more than 120 days. The decree outlines four groups subject to the measure, including business owners, heads of households, and representatives of enterprises or cooperatives that are no longer operating at their registered address.
