Vietnam Tax Department to provide free accounting software for small businesses

The Tax Department is planning to provide free digital platforms and shared accounting software to small and micro-enterprises, business households, and individual business owners in Vietnam. This initiative aims to implement government regulations and National Assembly resolutions regarding special mechanisms and policies to develop the private sector.

According to Deputy Director of the Tax Department Mai Son, the solution must be practical, safe, and integrated with existing electronic invoice software and digital signature services. The software is expected to ensure data security, support electronic data storage, and reduce administrative procedures and compliance costs for users.

During recent discussions, officials evaluated three implementation options, focusing on technical infrastructure, connection requirements with tax systems, and the feasibility of various deployment timelines. The department intends to leverage existing market products and expertise while ensuring transparency and efficient use of the state budget.
