Vietnam tests indigenous PTH-152 and PTH-130 artillery
Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense has conducted acceptance testing for two new indigenous self-propelled artillery systems, the PTH-152 and the PTH-130. A delegation led by Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam inspected the research, design, manufacturing, and testing results of these platforms on October 14.
The PTH-152 project was managed by Viettel High-Tech Industry Corporation, a subsidiary of the Military Telecommunications Industry Group, while the PTH-130 was developed by the Military Technical Academy. Both systems have completed their design, fabrication, and assembly phases. Initial mobility trials and live-fire tests have reportedly met baseline performance criteria.
Development teams are currently submitting tactical-technical configurations to the General Staff for formal approval. Efforts are ongoing to refine system stability and reliability to support upcoming multi-tiered evaluation and acceptance processes. The inspection highlighted the successful mastery of design and manufacturing technologies intended to modernize Vietnam’s land forces and meet contemporary artillery operational requirements.
