Vietnam indigenous artillery development
Overview
Vietnam has conducted acceptance testing for two domestically developed self-propelled artillery systems, the PTH-152 and the PTH-130. The PTH-152 was managed by Viettel High-Tech Industry Corporation, while the PTH-130 was developed by the Military Technical Academy.
Testing included mobility trials and live-fire tests, which reportedly met required technical and baseline performance standards. Following the inspection by a Ministry of National Defence delegation led by Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, development teams are submitting tactical-technical configurations to the General Staff for formal approval. Ongoing efforts focus on refining system stability and reliability to prepare the platforms for multi-tiered evaluation and eventual deployment to the Artillery-Missile Command.
