Vietnam tightens exam conduct and guarantees power for 2026 high school graduation tests

On June 11, 2026, the first day of Vietnam's national high‑school graduation exam, 27 candidates were disqualified for breaking exam rules – 16 in literature and 11 in mathematics – most for using mobile phones, two for using unauthorized materials. Authorities reported high participation rates (over 203,000 in literature, 1.2 million in math) and praised the orderly conduct, while urging tighter control of smartphones and AI tools.

The Quảng Ngãi provincial electricity corporation kept power flowing to test centres from May 27 through the exam period, inspecting the grid, reinforcing 110 kV to low‑voltage lines and positioning diesel generators as backup. Despite forecast temperatures of 30‑40 °C and a peak provincial load above 600 MW, no scheduled power cuts were made, ensuring that testing sites, printing facilities and grading rooms remained operational.
