Vietnam to host Theatre Week in Paris in 2026
Vietnam will host a Theatre Week in Paris from October 24 to 30, 2026, as part of the ‘Vietnam Day in France’ program. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the relationship between Vietnam and UNESCO.
Under the theme ‘Rencontre’ (Encounters), the program seeks to introduce various Vietnamese performing arts to French and international audiences while fostering long-term creative collaborations between artists of both nations. Highlights include water puppetry, contemporary dance such as ‘Do’, and a production of playwright Luu Quang Vu’s ‘Hon Truong Ba, da hang thit’, directed by French director Anne Bouvier with Vietnamese performers.
The initiative is part of Vietnam’s cultural diplomacy strategy through 2030, intended to promote the country’s image and strengthen connections between the Vietnamese community in France, particularly the younger generation, and their national heritage.
