Vietnam to launch inaugural Vietnam Culture Day in 2026
Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has issued directives to prepare for the first-ever Vietnam Culture Day on November 24, 2026, held in conjunction with the Great National Unity Festival on November 18.
The initiative aims to implement Politburo Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW regarding the development of Vietnamese culture. To ensure public participation, the Deputy Prime Minister has called for the expansion of cultural spaces, encouraging museums, cinemas, libraries, and theaters to extend their operating hours and offer fee waivers or reductions.
Authorities are instructed to avoid administrative or monotonous planning, focusing instead on activities that allow citizens to directly participate in and enjoy cultural values. Communication efforts will include flying the national flag throughout the week of November 18–24 and utilizing digital platforms to promote national pride and civic responsibility.
