Vietnam to open major road projects in Hanoi and Dong Thap by late 2026

Vietnam is accelerating completion of two large road infrastructure projects slated for operation before the end of 2026. In Hanoi, the Vành đai 2,5 segment between Nguyễn Trãi and Đầm Hồng, part of the city's outer ring and linked to the metro network, is expected to open on 10 October 2026 after land‑acquisition hurdles were resolved and construction reached about 40 % of its works. The corridor will serve major residential developments such as Royal City and Hanoi Seas.

In the Mekong Delta, the Cao Lanh‑An Hữu highway in Đồng Tháp province is in its final construction phase, with roughly 80 % of works completed. Despite shortages of construction stone and persistent rain, authorities target a 20 December 2026 opening, aiming to connect the new highway to the Ho Chi Minh‑Trung Lương‑Mỹ Thuận route, ease traffic on National Route 30 and shorten travel times to Ho Chi Minh City.
