Vietnam's Hùng Vương Stadium Nearing Completion as World's Largest Venue

Construction of the Hùng Vương Stadium, slated to hold 135,000 spectators, has progressed rapidly since work began more than six months ago. The 73‑hectare site now hosts four grandstands (A‑D) built simultaneously, with primary concrete and steel works slated for completion by December 2026. A mechanised roof‑cover system with automatic opening panels is expected to be finished by May 2027, after which the stadium will receive its electrical, mechanical and turf installations.

The project includes a 120‑metre‑wide, 2‑km long arterial road linking the stadium to National Road 21B, forming part of the broader Ring Road 4 network. With an investment exceeding VND 925 trillion, the venue aims to surpass India’s Narendra Modi Stadium and become the world’s largest sports arena, while also being positioned as a “green and smart” facility.

When completed, the stadium is expected to boost Vietnam’s sports tourism, generate surrounding real‑estate development, and serve as a flagship venue for major international events.
