Vietnam prioritizes electronics technology mastery and public safety

Vietnam is implementing several domestic policy and safety measures across various sectors. In the electronics and semiconductor industry, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc has directed ministries to support local enterprises in mastering core technologies. This initiative aims to reduce the heavy reliance on foreign components and mitigate the local import deficit currently affecting the computer and electronic products sectors.

In public safety, the Traffic Police Department is calling for stricter oversight of driver training vehicles to prevent accidents caused by improper driving habits. Meanwhile, Hanoi authorities are investigating a fatal house fire in Tay Ho district that resulted in five deaths, with orders to clarify responsibilities and provide support to victims' families.

On a regional level, Gia Lai provincial leaders met with Dak Song commune officials to review socio-economic development and progress on disaster-resilient housing projects. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted ongoing efforts to facilitate long-term investment from U.S. companies, such as Mastercard, to support Vietnam’s digital transformation and economic resilience.
